Asset Inventories

Asset inventory for a nonprofit? Absolutely!

Unfortunately, as nonprofit professionals we can be notorious for undervaluing our strengths. What’s worse is when we approach interactions with donors and funders with a dependency mindset.

But we don’t have to take that position and shouldn’t! Conducting an asset inventory will help you to discover:

  • all the strengths your organization has,

  • where opportunities exist for partnering with like-minded community organizations and corporate supporters,

  • what you uniquely offer the community and your impact,

  • equip you to bring it all together and to any discussion.

A fundraising assessment together with an asset inventory can be a powerful combination to help you propel your effectiveness for the mission.

“Emily recently conducted a fundraising plan assessment for our start-up nonprofit and it was a delight to work with her on this project. She was super flexible regarding our needs and helped us to think about our future and best strategies for growing engagement and support.  Omena is ready to start 2022 strong, with a good fundraising foundation thanks to Emily's guidance.”   Francesca Raoelison, Founder and Executive Director, Omena

Pro Tip: To help identify assets, start with how your work benefits the community and makes individuals’ lives better. Get specific and go beyond your mission and vision!

My consulting is about:

Serving small to medium size nonprofits who need fundraising and strategic support. I help organizations set up effective strategies that will help them raise the money they need. With 30+ years in the field, I've worn many hats in my roles at any given time – even in large organizations ($300m+ revenue) but with a small development dept. (2-3) people. Working together, I take some of the overwhelm off your shoulders. This allows you to focus on what is truly important – serving your constituents and sharing the story of your impact in the community.
